Story
The UN has described the worldwide increase in domestic abuse as a "shadow pandemic" alongside Covid-19, as many people are trapped at home with their abuser.
For some children and families, home is not be a safe place and staying there will be extremely challenging.
One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner.
Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.
I am not a runner (you all know this), but by taking part in the Refuge "100 Miles in February" event together we can raise much needed funds for those in desperate need of help during this 3rd national lockdown.
By kindly sponsoring me today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence.
Thank you, Traci xx
