Tracy's Captain Tom 100 Mile Cycling Challenge

Captain Tom 100 · 6 April 2021 to 6 May 2021 ·
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. At a time when vulnerable members of society need them most, charities have had to cut services, furlough staff and some have even shut down. Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. I will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom by cycling 100 miles and at the same time hoping to raise a few quid for my chosen charity.
I have chosen The Kaleidoscope Plus Group as I worked closely with them and other storytellers for 4 months last year. During this time they gave me a tremendous amount of support and allowed me a safe space to discuss how I was feeling which I now realise I needed more than anything. This culminated in me producing a video sharing my story.
TeamKPG do so much more great work supporting people. As I've said before, if I can do something that will help just 1 person and stop a family from experiencing the pain of losing someone by suicide then these challenges I put myself through are totally worth it.
TeamKPG's services includes; residential and independent living services, 24hr text crisis support, their Talk2Us service providing support for those who need someone to talk to, suicide prevention services, bereavement support, counselling in the community, mental health services for children including those in care or at risk, community support and activity groups aimed at promoting inclusion, support, recovery, wellness and self-care. They offer a wide range of services so that they can help each person that needs them, meeting their unique, individual needs.
Please donate if you can, if you can't then no pressure. Times are hard at the minute for lots of people, I don't want to add to any stress you currently have by you thinking you have to! Your choice, no judgement :-)
