Treadmill Marathon for St Alfege with St Peter's · 9 January 2008

St Alfege's serves an ethnically diverse community in an area of high social and economic deprivation in South East London. We aim to provide a calm, happy and stimulating environment in which children can learn and achieve, and to promote mutual respect by developing our links with the wider community.

Story

The treadmill marathon was a huge success! Thank you all very much for your donations and words of encouragement. The support has been amazing, and the kids from St Alfege with St Peter's were there to cheer me through the half-way point - providing a much-needed boost of energy.

Together with your help, donations collected during the event (£760), and HSBC's pound-for-pound scheme (£500), we raised £2912 for St Alfege with St Peter's, who will put the money to good use. If you factor in Gift Aid, the total amount is over £3k!

Many thanks for your generosity, helping raise money for this good cause.  And a special thanks to my colleagues for their help running the event and collecting donations.

Best wishes,

Kyle

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

On Wednesday 30th January at 10 a.m. I will be running a marathon (26.2 miles, or 42.2 Km) to benefit St Alfege with St Peter's CE Primary School.

Unlike traditional marathons, run on the open road, this will be run on a treadmill in the main hallway of Canary Wharf shopping centre (near HSBC branch and Vision Express) - in full view of colleagues, friends, and bargain hunters.

Through this effort I hope to raise £1600* to meet the shortfall of ongoing renovation works at the School - in particular, the creation of green space, a sensory garden, and play areas for the children - a project that HSBC Private Bank has been closely involved with for over a year.

(*Original shortfall £2000, less £400 raised through successul Bake Sale organised by fellow HSBC Private Bank graduates)

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient ay to sponsor me: St Alfege with St Peter's CE Primary School will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you very much for your support!
