ginnie's Mid. distance triathlon page

Aberfeldy Middle Distance Triathlon · 16 August 2015
Thank you for visiting my Just-Giving Page.
3 years ago, I made a promise to myself that every year, I would try and do something to raise money to help other people.
This year it's the turn of Lymfund. And the beginning of my adventure into the world of Triathlon. Starting with the Aberfeldy Middle Distance Triathlon on the 16th August this year. That's 70.3 miles. On my own steam.
Gulp.
To liven things up and give myself some additional training goals, I'm also taking part in the Glenlivet 10k, Scottish Swimathon (5000m relay) and the Loch Leven Half Marathon.
Lymfund is a wonderful charity which was set up to support those who require treatment for Lymphoedema. Lymphoedema can occur naturally or develop once lymph nodes have been removed from the body. It is perhaps most common in those who are battling cancer and have had nodes removed during lumpectomy procedures.
It is incredibly debilitating and often mis-diagnosed. It's about time people were more aware of this disease and the treatments available to help reduce it's impact on lives.
£40 will pay for one treatment. So I'm trying to raise enough for over 10.
Thank you for reading. You can keep track of my progress here at my blog: https://missrunningbean.wordpress.com/
