SEEDS4Tanzania.org is a small charity aiming to build a pre-school in 2 remote villages in Tanzania. The schools will give basic education for approx 300 orphans. This project, run in partnership with the villagers, will give them and the children skills that we hope will lead to a better future.

Story

All 10 of the SKY DIVING  team jumped and survived!!

WELL DONE  to Lousie, Jane, Dan, Bright, Tom, Faith, Chris, Sumreen and Joanne- you're all stars.

Nicky's account of the experience:

After waiting for over 5 hours, in the beautiful sun, for the wind to calm we all jumped from a very small white plane 10.000ft up....so in the clouds!! We went up in groups of 2 and 3. Straped to our instructors we, in turn, fell from the plane at a falling speed of 180mph!!! Slowing to 120mph at the release of the pilot shoot. I now completely understand the full meaning of 'free falling'!!! After 5000 ft the parachute was released and from being stunned by the sensory overload of free falling I lurched violently upwards before the noise, speed and difficulty in breathing disappeared to be replaced by silence and the shear amazment that

a) I was still alive and

b) the view of the world.

For a brief moment I savoured this until the 360 degree parachute 'swooping' swirled me down to the landing site. At this point, I couldn't feel my legs as the harness had cut off my circulation so when Dillion, my instructor, said lift your legs I couldn't :/ ! Consequently, my landing was less than graceful, more like a car crash as my knees hit the ground before Dillions backside. I can sort of laugh about it now, maybe in a few weeks when the pain has gone I can really laugh about it!!! : )xx

Your donations make this experience seem less crazy.

THANK YOU

THANK YOU also to all our families and friends who joined us yesterday and to the Londonskydive company who ensured we all remained alive by the end of the day.

Every Blessing, Rev'd Nicky

Last year a group of Trinity School sixth form students, School Chaplain and Assistant Head travelled for the first time to Tanzania, East Africa to the Diocese of Mpwapwa. We visited the villages of Chitemo and Nyhinila and were welcomed by a large group of singing children, approximately 300, little toddlers to children of 7 years of age. These children were orphans.  One of the most distressing realities of our visit was the lack of water for the children. At most they can expect a cup of water a day and a bowl of maize mixed with water. One day in ten they do not eat or drink. Our aim on our return to the UK was to raise funds to provide a water bore hole for the villages. This will be £4000. For our final fund raiser a group of staff and their husbands and older children have volunteered to do a sky dive to help in this mission for water. If we raise more than £4000 we will use the extra funding to help pay for our over land travel for our next school mission.

Thank you for your support.
