Tristan Emptage's Fundraising Page

Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·
Thankyou for visiting my web page.
This year I' decided to enter the London Marathon on April 13th 2008 and had set the ambitious target of raising £1800 for the British Red Cross and going sub 3 hours in my first marathon, both of which would be massive challenge.
Due to a deeply frustrating leg injury which has kept me from running this last 5 weeks I've had to significantly adjust my target to a sub 4 hour run but am glad to report that I'm back training again.
Whilst my run time target has changed my Fundraising target of £1800 still needs to be achieved and is currently sitting some way of the target with approx £700.
Although you can't help me run any faster or make the hours of training in the cold, wet and wind any more bearable, you CAN help me reach the worthwhile fundraising target of £1800. All that I ask is that after digging deep and sponsoring me through this website you pass this web page onto all your friends.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Red Cross will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Tristan
Update: Tesco's will give an extra 20% donation on top of what we all donate.
Update: Only 10 days till the run and just another £350 till we reach the target of £1800...please keep giving and remember "every little helps" peolpe who need this money to make a BIG difference to there life.
Update: 5 days to go and I've started to thin about what 26.4 miles looks like...and what It'll feel like. I have to admit that I am a little worried! Thanks to all those that have recently sponsored me, just £300 to go now.
Update: Now less than £300 to raise. Keep digging deep. For those of you who have more sense and prefere to watch from their living room arm chair, my Number is 34,611. I hope that won't be my finishing posistion!
Marathon Update 14th April
somehow I managed to get around in 3 hours 59minutes and 51 sec - It was a lot harder than I imagined, especially once I hit the 18 mile mark, especially when some guy ran past me juggling balls wearing a 'mankini'.
It now hurts to walk, climb up/down stairs, drive and even sleep - pretty much anything other than sit to be honest (oh no, that hurts too). But it can't be that bad, I've already put my name forward for next year.
So I just want to say a massive thanks to everyone who sponsored me/supported me and kept me going on Sunday despite the pain, rain and legs that hadn't run in 6 weeks - it's amazing what a cupboard full of nurofen can do - oh, and hypnotherapy, sports massage and kineseology (yes, I tried it all).
