Story

Hello, I’m Thomas.  Some of my teenage  formative  years were spent living on a farm in the Western Cape in South Africa. It is here that I experienced the dire plight of farm workers struggling to break the cycle of poverty. It is also here that I first learned to play the trumpet, and on the dusty farm roads that I grew my passion for running. I have spent most of my adult life as an educator - first as a musician, and now an early year’s teacher - and I am an avid runner. The Pebbles Project are doing amazing work providing education for pregnant mothers and their children through to adulthood, meals and health provision to break the cycle of impoverishment and substance reliance. This tremendous work and approach to holistic education resonates with me and I would like to help through my running and trumpet playing.

Any donations are welcome or donate 1p per km  I run per week, or the run itself, or request a song that I’ll play on my trumpet for £5 (or any amount that you can)

Follow my progress on Instagram @trumpet_runner where song requests can be made.
