London to Paris · 24 June 2010

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

The London-Paris is the UK’s premier cyclosportive and it’s a tough one.  It’s a professional event for amateur riders and Tsunami Axis has entered a team of 5no riders.

The London-Paris (L2P) is the closest most people ever gets to the Tour de France experience and involves 350 cyclists, rolling road closures, a 100-strong support crew, lead vehicles and motorbike outriders.

It attracts attracts some of the biggest names in sport and in 2010 we’ll be riding alongside Rebecca Romero and Magnus Backstedt, Tour winners, ex-professionals and Olympians, Stephen Roche, James Cracknell, Sean Kelly, Johan Musseuw, Brian Smith, Geoff Thomas.

The 2010 route will be a 520km northerly classic to Paris. We start close to the historic Royal Palace of Hampton Court, cycling through the garden of England and cross the Channel to France where we test our legs on the flagged yellow, green and red sections. We finish at the iconic Eiffel Tower after riding past the famous Parisian landmarks.

This will be Tsunami’s second L2P and we will be raising money for one of our valued client, Great Ormond Street Hospital.    Over 150,000 children are treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital every year and Tsunami are honoured to have been working with them over the last 18 months, completing projects at their new Clinical Research Facility and providing furniture to complement other areas throughout the hospital improving patient and staff comfort.  We are proud to be raising money for such a worthy cause.

L2P is a tough cycling challenge, mentally and physically covering over 100 miles a day.  It’s a huge test of our endurance, stamina and fitness.
