Four years ago, a group of eccentric Peponi Prep parents came up with the idea of writing short skits to depict, through humour, life at an international school: specifically the interactions between the children, their parents, their teachers, and the school management. After many successful stage productions, and having created a buzzing amateur thespian community spirit, the Peponi Players have taken on a new challenge: that of presenting an online 'E-Play' in the current COVID-19 times, again with the aim of coming together through humour.
The proceeds from all of our productions have been used to support charities that we believe in, and this year the group has chosen to give to the ‘TUSHINDE CHILDREN’S TRUST’ - an organisation that many of us are associated with.
Tushinde means ‘we are succeeding’ in Swahili, which is also a positive motto in our current environment.
Tushinde provides food, care and education to the poorest children in the informal settlements around Nairobi. These communities are extremely vulnerable at this difficult time, and we know that your contribution, through making a small donation to chortle at this ridiculous group of people, will make a big difference.
We hope that 'COMEDY IN THE TIME OF COLONA' puts a smile on your face - and those of the Tushinde children.
