WaterAid is an international non-profit with one goal: to change the world through water. Along with decent toilets and good hygiene, a reliable supply of clean water is essential for health, dignity and a life full of opportunity.

Story

Hey, didn't see you there!

Thanks  for having a wee gander at our fundraising page. What're we doing you ask? You probably already know but we, Chris Oliver (53), and daughter, Catherine Oliver (22), will be cycling across the USA in May this year. We feel that it's essential to include our ages, everyone does these days. 31 years apart, we will both be covering 3,415 miles (probably more) together in seven weeks. Catherine will obviously win (if it were a race). But it's not a race. We're calling it an adventure.

We're raising for WaterAid. A pound a mile that both of us do TOGETHER (see what we did there?). So 50p each. Or 51p for Catherine and 49p for Chris. But who's counting?

We are. We will be! As every gruelling mile may be a struggle but it will be worth it as we wholly believe that this charity runs brilliant sustainable projects to promote clean water, sanitation and hygiene around the world. Something we think that everyone should be entitled to. Have a think about this:

"783 million people in the world do not have access to safe water. This is roughly one in ten of the world's population." (WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP) Report 2012 update).

So if you'd like to donate, thank you! We most certainly won't be the only people appreciating your help.

We'll be updating a photo a day during the trip.
