Story

Weʼre raising £7,500 to Restore and rehabilitate 'Banat Al-Dana' and 'Atmeh' schools, which have been destroyed due to the ongoing war in Syria.

7 years of war in Syria has left a serious impact on the education sector in Syria, one of these is on school buildings which are damaged due to bombardment and a lack of support to rehabilitate damaged schools. According to ACU (Assistance Coordination Unit) report June 2018, about 27% of schools in Idleb are partially destroyed and need to be rehabilitated.

Considering the huge number of displaced people who came to Idlib, estimated at 3 million, there is an urgent need to repair what can be repaired and expand to accommodate as many students as possible. In addition, the war in Syria has left many children suffering from mobility disabilities and schools in Syria are not equipped to accommodate these students, there is a need to equip these schools to be inclusive and accommodate this vulnerable group of children.

The two schools will be rehabilitated and made fit to receive students in a safe and motivating environment and will be prepared to be inclusive for students with disabilities and encourage those who don’t attend schools to attend after equipping schools to fit with their needs.
