Help us promote organ donation and transplantation!

Each year thousands of people in the UK get a new lease of life thanks to the kindness of organ and tissue donors and their families. However, there are many more people who need a transplant than there are donors, and over 400 patients die each year while waiting for a suitable organ to become available. 

These are deaths that could be avoided if more people told their families of their wish to donate and joined the NHS Organ Donor Register (0845 60 60 400 or www.uktransplant.org.uk).

We're a group of staff at UK Transplant who are running the Bristol Half Marathon on September 9 this year to raise awareness of organ donation and to raise funds for charity Transplants in Mind (TIM). TIM promotes awareness of organ and tissue donation for transplantation and funds research in to all aspects of donation and transplantation.
