In Ethiopia, and large parts of Africa and other parts of the world where there are inadequate medical facilities, these women have a difficult, or perhaps an obstructed labour, maybe for days, leading to a stillborn child, which causes a vaginal fistula (a hole) in the bladder, rectum or in the worst cases, in both, leaving them incontinent in one or two respects. It is lifelong, and untreated, the woman becomes an outcast in her society because of her offensive smell.

The charity we have decided to support, Hamlin Fistula UK, use the money raised to send surgeons to places such as Ethiopia, to perform life changing operations for these girls, in such tragic, horrible situations.

We have come together as a group run by Sally Boyce called 'U Want Me 2 Do What?!'  a workshop where we discuss sex and relationships with a message of self-empowerment. Our group of young women, Henny Jenkins, Jessica Radley, Lucy Willcox, Amy Newberry, Cordelia Harrison and Phoebe Morgan, are raising money and awareness for this charity as we realise there are many young women who don't have the choices and freedom that we do.
