We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

My name is Jay and I’m signed up to take part in Ultra White Collar Boxing’s 8-week training program leading to an amateur fight night this November, all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

As many of you are aware, over the past 3 years I’ve been fighting my own battle against a body I really wasn’t happy with. While focusing on my fitness goals and taking part in a number of running challenges I’ve lost over 4 stone and have become hooked on finding new physical challenges to test myself with and showing people what they too can be capable of.

You may also know of my fandom for the Rocky films, which brings us to this next challenge with UWCB, which will not only allow me to live out my Balboa fantasies but also allow me to use my training for a greater cause and help people such as my nan who lived with and bravely fought one of the many forms of cancer (over 200) that Cancer Research UK uses its resources and funding for and will hopefully help knock out once and for all.

Every day in the UK there are more than 400 people diagnosed with cancer that will survive the disease for more than 10 years thanks to research.

We appreciate and thank you for any amount you are willing and able to give towards the cause and hope to see you on fight night on Saturday 17th November at Bath Pavilion!

(I will also be taking on the LONDON MARATHON on April 23rd 2017 in support of Cancer Research UK, so please consider this when donating, and give generously!)
