Story
I have signed up to take part in the Ultra White Collar boxing event which takes place on Saturday 30th September 2017 at The Troxy in London.
I am raising money for Cancer Research UK and am pleased to be raising money for such a great cause. Cancer Research UK is a charity close to my heart. In 2010, my Dad was diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer and it was a complete shock to my family and I. The support that my Dad received from Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge was second to none and without the support and treatment that he received he would not be with us today.
When my Dad was diagnosed with this condition, the statistics were that only 44% of men diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer would survive for 1 year after diagnosis and that just 16% of those diagnosed would survive for 5 years or more. With the help of companies like Cancer Research UK, Oesophageal cancer survival in the UK has tripled in the last 40 years.
My 8 week intensive training programme at KO gym in Bethnal Green started on 7th August 2017 and the event takes place on 30th September 2017. Standard tickets to the event cost £20.00, please let me know if you would like to come. All sponsorships will be greatly appreciated – my fundraising goal is £1,000 which will go to Cancer Research UK and will go towards helping people like my Dad who have been diagnosed with this life changing condition.
