Hi!

Last year I decided that I want to raise awareness and raise money to beat cancer. On the 23rd of June 2015 I will walk the Camino del Norte. This is a 850km walk from Irun in Spain to Santiago the compostella. It is one of the oldest pilgrim routes to Santiago. By doing this I will try to raise as much awareness and money as possible. I will interview scientists, specialists, other health practitioners and listen to people’s stories on how they have been affected by cancer. Everyone will be able to celebrate the lives of the people who are no longer with us, or who have been affected by cancer. For a donation up to £30 I will have the name of your special person printed on a t-shirt and for donations from £30 onwards I will have a photo printed on the T-shirt. I will wear the T-shirts on route to Santiago. This way that person will be my companion on my journey. It would be great if you share some information about this person as everyday I will put other people in the spotlight to celebrate their lives. I will also organise other events in the run up to July in order to raise more money and it would be great if you would do this too! You can organise anything from baking cakes, to organise a car wash, party, walks,etc. Sadly one of the main reasons that cancer can often not be cured is simply because we detect it when it’s too late and the virus has spreads further in the body. Scientists work endlessly in order to find cures to beat cancer. This research is incredibly expensive and governments are not always very giving. Luckily charities like cancer research worldwide try to raise money and allocate this money to cancer research. I chose this particular charity because it donates money internationally. We live in a global world and we must support scientists from all over the globe. The answer to the cure could be held by a scientist living in any part of the world. The illness also has no borders and people from all over the world have been affected by it. So let’s walk and fight this together.
