Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

We are three student Physiotherapists. Our studies have
highlighted the importance of high-quality care and support, especially for those with neurological and terminal conditions.

It wasn’t a hard decision to pledge our support for the Wheatfields Hospice based in Headingley which works to help people through the most difficult times of their lives.

In addition to their inpatient unit, the Day Therapy Services help people living with long term conditions to avoid unnecessary trips to hospital. They provide opportunities for patients to meet others who are experiencing similar circumstances. They also offer community services for people who prefer to receive palliative care at home.

Staff take time to understand what’s most important to people and give them choice and control over their care, through specialist treatment, rehabilitation and support for their families.

The charity sees a future where palliative and neurological care reaches more communities and one in which everyone can access the quality of care they deserve.
