We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know, i'm one of 35 lastminute.com employees running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 11th to raise money for our chosen charity the NSPCC. I have been working with the NSPCC for nearly a year now and am still moved by the incredible determination of the team there to end child cruelty in the UK.

So please dig deep to support this amazing charity. Together, this is what we're trying to change:

The Facts About Child Cruelty in the UK

Every week at least one child is killed through abuse or neglect

7% of children experience serious physical abuse at the hands of their parents or carers during childhood

Every day, on average eight children and young people talk to ChildLine specifically about suicide

At any one time, there are more than 35,000 children on child protection registers. They are deemed to be suffering from, or likely to suffer, significant harm.

Each week 600 children are added to child protection registers.

At least 110,000 adults living in this country have been convicted of sex offences against children.

26 per cent of all rape victims are children
