Trailwalker 2016 · 22 July 2016 to 24 July 2016 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well, I'm not much of a walker but I'm a sucker for a good challenge - and I've found one!
Trailwalker is a 100km 'off-road' course along the South Downs Way and is predominately referred to as 'The Ultimate Ghurka Challenge' which has the equivalent ascent of Ben Nevis and Snowdon combined! The route starts in the Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire and ends in Brighton.
I will be taking on this challenge with three school Mum friends over the last weekend in July with the deadline of just 30 hours to complete the full 100km (hilly) course. This inevitably means walking through the night (did I mention that I'm scared of the dark and have a phobia of bats) which I hope will be an emotional and breath-taking moment in the walk and not the moment that reduces me to an emotional jelly.
We are raising money for Oxfam and The Ghurka Welfare Trust, both amazing and life changing organisations. So I ask you to dig deep and donate what you can. It will certainly be a huge incentive to keep plodding on.
The journey begins at 6am on Saturday 23rd July and finishes less that 30 hours later (hopefully) on the 24th July. Not long now....
Thank you.
