Our youngest son Stanley is autistic. He is now 13 years of age. We knew very early on that something was different with our son, but it wasn't until 5 years ago and we received his diagnosis that the truth hit home. Our tried and trusted way of parenting was going to have to change. Everyday is a challenge - more so now Stanley has hit his teens, BUT there is help out there. Through companies such as Autism west midlands and signpost inclusion we have found a haven, we have found a safety net and we have found support. More needs to be done to support this hidden condition. Autism is not visable, it is a hidden condition, only the 'traits' are visable. Our son gets labeled naughty or rude, when in fact he's just trying to get by the best he can.
I am TERRIFIED of flying, let alone jumping out of a plane, but if there's one cause that could make me do it, its Autism west midlands.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give give give whatever you can. Every penny really does help. Help me help other families in the same situation as us.
