6 years ago I lost a good friend, my step dad, to stroke.

Ted was a great man with a great sense of humor ( well you've gotta be to support Arsenal :) He loved Arsenal and loved life.  Ted was Mayor of Haverhill in 2008 when he was suddenly struck down by a stroke.  Being a fighter Ted survived and with the fantastic care he received from Addenbrooks and Newmarket Hospitals he came home for a short while before sadly having another major stoke.

Every year there are approximately 152,000 strokes in the UK. That's one stroke every five minutes. Most people affected are over 65, but anyone can have a stroke, including children and even babies.

After experiencing the affects of how stroke can change lives in an instant, I want to help make a difference to the families that are affected.  Plus Ted would be proud :)
