Story
Top golfer 'Nick Dougherty' is backing Abu Dhabi golfers: Steve Chadwick, Steve Garbutt, Steve Wiltshire and Steve Moruzzi, as we prepare to swing into action for charity this summer and take part in Macmillan‘s Longest Day Golf Challenge, to help people living with cancer. We are hoping to raise as much money as possible in sponsorship for the cancer care charity by playing four rounds of golf, in just one day, on Friday 9th May. After starting at 6.00am on the Al Ghazal sand course, we will then play 18 holes on The Garden at 10.00am, followed by The National at 1.00pm and will finally tee-off for the final 18 holes at 6.30pm on the Golf and Equestrian course . We are due to finish at approximately 9.30pm, over 15 hours after playing our first hole!
The team, aptly named ‘VJ Steves’ really wanted to take on this challenge and help Macmillan Cancer Support. “Having lost a close friend (Veronica Jeffery) to cancer in January; we want the opportunity to raise money to help those who are facing a similar battle to Veronica’s. It will be no easy feat completing four rounds of golf in one day, but we’ll be spurred on knowing that every single hole will be helping people with cancer.”
Nick Dougherty, who is supporting the event, adds: “We’ve all been touched by cancer in some way, either personally or through friends and family. Macmillan’s Longest Day Golf Challenge is the perfect excuse to have a fun golfing day while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support."
Any contributions are welcome and no amount is too small, should you wish to contribute.
Thank you for your support.
