Walker of Leith - Coast to Coast · 27 February 2013

The first river charity to be established in Scotland we work as guardians of the Water of Leith, raising the profile of this key environmental asset, educating and inspiring people to enjoy the Water of Leith and promote community action to help the river and its wildlife.

Story

From 15-19 April, I am undertaking a 90 mile coast-to-coast trek across Central Scotland to raise funds for the important work of the Water of Leith Conservation Trust. From Helensburgh on the Firth of Clyde to the Shore at Leith, the walk will take in the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals, the Three Lochs Way and of course the Water of Leith walkway.
In April 2012, me and my dog Tula raised nearly £2500 with our walk along Edinburgh's river which has already been put to good use conserving Edinburgh's wonderful river. This year's challenge will involve walking up to 22 miles per day for five consecutive days. Tula will join me on the last stage of the walk to raise awareness of the importance of picking up after your dog.
