WELCOME TO MEN UNITED. KEEPING FRIENDSHIPS ALIVE.
We want to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and other prostate related conditions and while we're doing that we also want to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
WHO ARE WE?
We are Peter Barton and Mark Ford - two men from Suffolk, hoping to raise as much as possible for this UK charity.
WHY PROSTATE CANCER?
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. About 1 in 8 men will get it at some point in their lives. It affects Men of all ages although the risk increases with age. Every day in the UK men die of prostate cancer, but with your help in donating what you can, the fight for a cure can continue.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?
We are going to walk the famous pilgrim trail, The Camino de Santiago de Compostella, also referred to as The Way, The Way of St James or just 'The Camino'. The route starts in St Jean Pied de Port on the French side of the Pyrenees and ends 770 km or 478 miles later in Santiago in Northern Spain. This is likely to take us 38 days. We start in April 2016. Peter and Mark have some experience of this trail having walked 96 miles of it in September 2012, when Pete had a break from his Chemo and Radiotherapy treatment. Mark and Pete successfully completed the 54 mile Camino Finisterre in April 2014.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
Please support us by making a donation to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better life.
