From Wes:

Warwickshire is a beautiful county of gentle hills, woodlands and waterways, meadows, grasslands and hedgerows all rich in wildlife and wonder. It's something I've always enjoyed experiencing first hand, and on foot. Since studying Ecology and Environmental Science at The University of East Anglia for 3 years I have also come to have an appreciation of the workings of the ecosystem that includes all the different species of plants and animals around us and to understand the effects that habitat reduction and our impact on the local environment has on this delicately balanced and interconnected system.

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust does great work in not only maintaining the different habitats we have in the county but also in helping people to experience and enjoy them. It's only through our experience and enjoyment that we can come to appreciate the wealth of wildlife on our doorstep, and to understand how we can manage and protect it in the best way.

Matt is a friend who I have met through playing live music around the Leamington and Warwick area and we both share a love of walking and an appreciation of the local environment.

By doing this walk we hope to combine our love of walking, and enjoying the countryside in a simple and environmentally friendly way with our love of playing music and meeting people. We hope not only to raise money for WWT and its activities, but to raise awareness and encourage people to enjoy the local countryside in a similarly low impact way
