Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The team is Chris Haigh (Skipper), Mark Weatherhead, Richard Thomson, Wendy Gregory, Alison Crossley and Mike Bradburn

The Castles and Islands Challenge is a 24 hour event combining 30 miles of running around Alnwick, Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and Lindisfarne Castles with sailing from Amble to Holy Island, and back. Two runners must run each of the 4 running sections, and only wind power can be used whilst on the boat.

We wanted to use this event to raise money for artwork for the Specialist Emergency Care Hospital opening in 2014. Art makes a stark clinical environment more friendly and approachable.
