Children of Watamu has, since 2000, been transforming children's lives. The Happy House, opened in 2010, is home and family to up to 100 children-orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected. We have added a high-achieving kindergarten and primary school and junior secondary school.

Story

Greetings and Jambo thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
My objective is to raise £1000 for the farm at the Happy House Orphanage in Watamu where crops can be grown and animals farmed to provide food for the children.

Everything is based around 1, 10, 100 & 1000 all will become clear over the next few weeks. Its 10-10 of fund raising.
I will be doing a whole host of fundraising ideas. First objective is to collect 1,000 photos  each photo £1. I will then make 10 collages of 100 photos which I will publish and print. These will go in the Happy House so the children can see who has supported them.

Can you send a  photo in for my smiling photo collection with a £1 either online or in person? Please tell friends and family. e-mail photos to cbasic@gmail.com

See my Children Of Watamu website page for example

If you send me 10 or more photos  I will send you an electronic collage you can send out . Please send photos to cbasic1@gmail.com

If you send me 10 numbers between 1-78 and donate at least £1 i will send you a tarot reading. E-mail me for further details

Talking of *smiles*

I will also be calling on the wisitmaster who will be doing  1,000 tarot readings and spending 1,000 minutes locked in a cellar! Chuck will be doing his bit with 1,000 chucks!

We will also have 10 volunteers who will pose for a glamour shot for a tasteful series of photo's (WI standard!) Each photo will be spit into a 100 squares and sold for £1 when all the squares are sold alll will be revealed. Adult volunteers of all ages required!

My passion for Kenya started 2 years ago but it was January 2008 that I met this amazing lady called Sue Hayward who has been working for over 8 years for the Charity she set up for the Children Of Watamu. She is an inspiration and proves we can make a difference and put smiles on the children faces and give them a future. I sponsor 2 children Rukia and Calvin by doing this has made a real difference to them.

If you get a chance to visit Watamu, Kenya you can visit the school and happy house. Its an amazing country with amazing people, beaches and safari's. By visiting and supporting you can make a difference.

If you want to help with my fundraising let me know!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Working For The Children Of Watamu gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
