Story
Firstly, a massive thank you for taking time out to visit my page!
In 2013, my wife and I decided to move to Lesotho for a few years. It was to help build and create a catering and hospitality school that also operated as a social enterprise generating valuable funding to help support Kick4Life with its social development programs.
If you don’t know about Kick4Life it’s an incredible NGO which was the brain child of both Pete and Steve Fleming; two brothers from the UK. In 2005 they kicked a football for 250 miles across Malawi to raise funds for charity and the response they got was beyond belief. It was this challenge that made them realise that by using sport they could help to change the lives of disadvantaged youth.
Since registering Kick4Life in 2006 here in Lesotho they have managed some incredible achievements which include testing over 25,000 young people for HIV with over 600 being referred to medical treatment and support, over 50,000 young people have completed sports based health education and life skills curriculum, over 250 people have been trained as health education and life skills coaches, over 1000 out of school youth have attained key skills standards in literacy, numeracy and IT skills and the list goes on and on!
All of this has been achieved because of two brother’s love for sport and social development and there continual hard work and dedication to kick4lLife has helped to change so many lives here in Lesotho.
This year I have decided to do something which fills me with dread! and that is to run a marathon to raise money for this incredible charity. I absolutely hate running and anything that involves running so if I can do this then I would appreciate your support.
