Our beautiful son Freddie was born with a congenital heart condition called 'Tetralogy of Fallot' and has had 2 major open heart operations at Bristol Children's Hospital before his 2nd birthday. The medical/surgical teams have gifted us with a very happy and healthy 2 year old son. We owe them our world and therefore Wayne and I will be setting ourselves numerous sporting challenges in the coming months starting with Julie doing the quarter marathon at Apperley on the 7th September & Wayne doing the Cheltenham Triathlon on the 8th september. All monies raised will be given to BCH. They really deserve and are worth every penny that you kindy donate they truly are amazing people. Yesterday our now 3 year old son Freddie had a heart check up with Dr Tulloh and we were told there is no reason why Freddie should require any more surgery!!!! We really can't thank Bristol Childrens hospital enough for giving us a very happy & exceptionally healthy beautiful little boy. They have enabled Freddie to lead a fun filled normal life & we will ensure he knows exactly what everyone has done for him and ensure that he lives life to the full. Our last 3 years have had many ups and downs. I can't even begin to explain how we felt each time we handed our beautiful boy to the theatre staff and entrusted his life with them. Their skill, competence and empathy has been utterly amazing. We will continue to compete in as many challenges as possible to raise as much money as we can. We need to do this this as it's our way of saying THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL AT BRISTOL!!!!!!

So Freddie is now an amazing 4 year old with a real zest for life. He leads a normal life and is about to start school this September. We don't have another cardiology appointment until next June and I wouldn't say that when that time comes we wont be feeling anxious but hopefully it will only be great news once again.

We haven't given up on the charity fundraising and will keep competing in these challenges just to continue to say THANK YOU BRISTOL.
