Story

Team 'Love To Ride', Rob Hemming, Lee O'Sullivan, Shayne Barge and Dyanne Holland thank you for taking the time to check our page out.  We're a group of work colleagues with a passion for cycling and so we couldn't think of a better way to spend a weekend than cycling 81 miles in the Scottish Highlands to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Research.  I'm sure you'll all agree MacMillan is a fantastic charity that has probably affected someone we know somewhere along the line. More info on Etape Caledonia: http://www.etapecaledonia.co.uk/index.html

We'll be updating our page with pictures and stories of our training rides as we go along so please keep in touch.

Personal messages from the team...

Message From Rob:

For those of you that know me will be aware that my good friend and training partner Richard Ellis lost his year long battle against cancer on 22 February this year. A top iron man distance triathlete, Richie dedicated much of his time and life to the sport he loved. Richie was an inspiration to all those who knew him, always keen to chat and offer advice to all. The MacMillan nurses made Richie's life as comfortable as they could in his last few months with us, for which I would be very grateful if you could make a donation to the organistation who cared for a "Top Geezer", my kids' Uncle Richie and my best mate who I deeply miss.

Message from Shayne:

This will be my first year participating in the Etape Caledonia. Despite being a keen cyclist for many years, I've never undertaken a ride this challenging before, so every donation will be gratefully received for such a worthwhile Charity.

Message from Dye:
I had one of my closest friends diagnosed with a brain tumor about 1 year ago - just a few weeks after his wedding day.  He is my inspiration and motiviation behind this challenge as even through the last 12 months of turmoil and chemo he has always remained positive and high on life.  In a bid to show support to my friend I want to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity - MacMillan.  This is my first challenge of 3 for Macmillan this year.  I will also be cycling the Verenti Dragon Ride in Wales (190km) and L'etape du Tour in France (181km).
