Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Founded in 1974, by growing our register of stem cell donors, conducting research and supporting patients, Anthony Nolan cures blood cancer and blood disorders. But we need to do more. Without you, there is no cure.

Story

There are some things you never imagine facing.

For me, a half marathon was one of them.

Then again so was having a child with cancer.

After being diagnosed with lymphoma twice, a bone marrow transplant was my daughter Emily's best chance of recovery and Anthony Nolan made it possible for her to find a match and get better. Originally it was her, the crazy teen who wanted to run this race- not me, but bone marrow transplants aren't the best fitness boosters and I needed a challenge.

This isn't just about raising money, it's about health, so that even though I couldn't be a match for Emily, if someone else needed me to be a donor I would be fit enough to do so.

£100 puts a new donor on the Anthony Nolan Register. £100 makes the difference for someone like my daughter having a lifesaving match....or not.

So please! Donate! After all, is there anything funnier than some school yard Mum's donning running gear?
