Story
As you all know my darling wife, Marion, passed away last year. She had been the mainstay, not only of the operation of the car boot sale, but also of the drive behind our efforts, as a car boot sale community, to support local charities.
As well as offering discounts for charities selling at the car boot sale, we had been raising monies for the West Kirby Cancer Shop, but then following the death of our dear friend John McM just before Christmas 2012, we decided to concentrate the charity funding efforts directly to Wirral Hospice St Johns, the place where John was cared for during his final weeks. As we were regular visitors to the hospice we had seen at first hand the fantastic job done by staff and volunteers in caring for John so it was a very simple decision to support this worthy cause through the community that is West Kirby Fc Car Boot Sale. So far, through all our efforts, we have raised thousands of pounds for the hospice, and following Marions passing last June, the incredible sum of one thousand pounds was raised by you all in her memory. That sum was donated to the hospice in July. This month, April, Marion and I would have celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, how lovely it would be if we could mark that occasion by raising a significant sum for the hospice in memory of the sunshine, love and support she brought to everyone at the car boot sale over 22 years. Every single donation counts and will be transferred to the hospice account and receipted.
You can donate less than £10.
