THANK YOU EVERY ONE !!!!!!!
We cannot tell you how amazed, we are at getting so much support from you guys..really has blown us away!!
It was an amazing day, and one we won't forget in a long time..too many people to mention..BUT a big thank you to Mark who has been quietly collecting away in the pub, and Jacqui Webster who has been collecting for us in Cobblers..these pair have raised over £200 between them..
Becca Aylott also gets a mention, for being brave enough to shave her mums hair, and supporting the charity by becoming a volunteer (proof that it's not all about sitting at the till drinking tea)
Huge love to everyone, our familes who put up with our crazy shizzle and friends who are there cheering us on, while thinking Thank F*** I didn't get dragged into this one..
Signing out... Brenda and Maria (The hardest looking wimmin in Leicester) xxxxxxx
Hair is so over rated anyway..October 19th at CRUK Leicester it's coming off...
We've known each other the best part of 20 years, we've done the whole work hard, play harder routine..pints of Guinness and Cafferys has been replaced by cups of de-caf and egg custards.
We have both been affected by cancer, Maria's beloved partner Joe passed 2 years ago after fighting long and hard against the disease, leaving behind a beautiful daughter and a devastated ( and not bad looking ) Maria, all through this, there's been dark days and nights, but she still manages to make people laugh with her ridiculous sense of humour and fetish of wearing nylon
I deal with it everyday, inspirational stories, people who have tragically seen their friends and family lose their fight but they continue to support CRUK and are passionate about the day when we can say all cancers are curable. One of my gorgeous volunteers Pat has recently finished her chemo, she had beautiful hair, which she lost...I did promise her before she started the course, if she lost her hair, I'd do the same...so here we are...
Stand up 2 Cancer is an event organised by Cancer Research UK, we're doing our bit by going bald..yes really. It's about having some fun while raising money, I'm sure you'll all be having a laugh at our expense..so what if we end up looking like rejects from Bad Girls..bad girls are sexy right??
