Story
First off, thanks for visiting this page in the first place. Even if only your curiosity as to what guff I'm trying to relate is satisfied, I am happy.
I will be cycling 1051.5 miles from Land's End in Britain's extreme Southwest corner, to John O'Groats in the extreme Northeast, camping as I go. I ask you to donate amounts for which your personal means necessitate - not for my survival on this journey - but for the Woodland Trust.
I feel that Woods, especially Ancient British Woodland, is essential to our Isle's health and culture and upon hearing of the relative ambivalence of some rather powerful individuals, to what is probably viewed as 'mere' woods hindering development to them, I decided to do something to reignite public knowledge of our native wildwoods.
For a slightly more fervered and humorous plea you can soak up this post of my blog for this journey, but know that through this journey (and my blog) I merely hope to leave knowledge - willful blindness is often a major catalyst for wanton abandonment and destruction of natural habitats - and touch hearts of as many as I can to restore faith in our Ancient Forests.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, and totally secure. There is no limit on when you donate - you can do it right now if you want, or wait to see what I get up to before helping. Whether you can leave just £1 to our remaining Ancient Woodlands, or £1000: I am equally grateful.
