Wiktor's Running 180km over 2 months + Half Marathon (21.1km)

Running 180km over 2 months + Half Marathon (21.1km) · 30 September 2020
About me:
For those who know me well, you probably have heard me before complaining about how running sucks! Well, call me a hypocrite, but I actually started to enjoy running since I got motivated the heck out after listening to David Goggins' "Can't Hurt Me" book.
Since around June, I have been continuously challenging myself in my runs, going beyond my comfort zone and what I thought I was capable of in terms of running. I really thought I was not made for it. But, it seems otherwise.
My next step is to complete a Half Marathon (21.1km) at the latter part of September and over the next 2 months by the 30th September to accumulate just over 200km in running distance.
I am recording my runs with Strava and will be posting all of them on my stories on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/wiktorkaro/) and you should also see them popping up here.
Why the charity (O.U.R.)?
This year has been a challenging year for many. With both the looming impact of the pandemic and other events happening during the last 7 months, there had been many evils exposed and publicised. One of the issues that came to surface within our society and something I couldn't simply accept and turn away from is the child trafficking and abuse that is going on around the world - and not just in developing countries.
Would you believe that there are an estimated 30 million human slaves in the world, most of whom are children and a lot of whom are exposed to sexual slavery? I believe deeply in the right to freedom and opportunity to have a shot at a decent life - and these are such freedoms which we take for granted but at least 30 million still haven't got because of sex trafficking.
O.U.R. is a charity which I have heard of before, they do amazing work to fight against child trafficking, through raids on suspected slave dens, legal action and rehabilitation of survivors. Some of the victims are even younger than 14!
To quote O.U.R.'s site:
"In the past six years of existence, O.U.R. has rescued 3,800 victims and assisted in the arrests of more than 2,100 traffickers around the world. The partners we are empowering have collectively helped rescue the lives of more than 100,000 survivors who were enslaved, exploited or at risk."
