We fund specialist equipment to improve the lives of disabled children

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Let me start by introducing you to my son William.  He is almost 4 years old and has an undiagnosed white matter disorder.  This means that since he was a baby he never reached certain milestones such as walking and talking.  He struggles with daily tasks and needs an awful lot of support and supervision.

William uses different pieces of equipment to help with sitting and standing and he uses a pacer to help him take little steps (more pictures to follow shortly).  The newest piece of equipment we are trying to get for him is his very own bed.  Because he struggles with moving around safely and has no perception of danger, William has never been able to sleep in his own bed.  With the help of Newlife Foundation for disabled children, William is about to receive a specialist bed called a Safespace Cosyfit.  He will finally has a special safe place he can call his own (and we can hopefully get a good night sleep)!

This is the reason I want to run the London Marathon for Newlife Foundation, as a way of saying thank you for helping our family and to help spread the word of all they do for families with disabled children.
