Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ken Poole has been a member of Woodthorpe Tennis Club on Albemarle Road in Nottingham for many years, regularly playing most weekends.  Ken had a terrible farming accident in August 2014 and unfortunately lost both his legs. He was transferred from the farm to the QMC by air ambulance, which no doubt saved his life.

Despite all that he has gone through, Ken has remained positive and keeps on smiling. He is already learning to walk again with prosthetic legs and is doing remarkably well. We are full of admiration for Ken and he is truly an inspiration to us all.

The Helipad Appeal is to raise money for a new air ambulance Helipad at the QMC.

Currently the air ambulance lands at the Highfields site and it can take up to 20 minutes to transfer a patient to QMC and this delay can make the difference between life and death. A Helipad at QMC would make a huge saving in time and therefore lives.

We're raising money for the Helipad appeal in Ken's name. Ken is supporting this appeal and his many friends at Woodthorpe Tennis Club want to help him.

We are holding Junior and Senior tennis tournaments on 25.4.15 for club members to raise money.

We have set up this page for donations to the Helipad appeal, and it is for anyone who can't make it on the day, for anyone that knows Ken, or anyone that just would like to give to this cause.

Thank you

Carol Whittington
