Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Before I donated my hair for the first time, I had no idea that a few months later my sister would be getting a wig from The Little Princess Trust. A charity who make wigs for children and young adults who've lost their hair through cancer or other illnesses. As my sister was on the teenage cancer ward, they offered her a wig too.My hair used to be my thing. It's always been long. But after seeing my sister not have a choice about losing hers, it made hair less important. After all, it grows back! I chopped a good 14'' off last time, and it's almost back at the same length again! The wig my sister received made her feel more 'normal' to leave the house in than just her head scarf, and I'm sure it makes others feel the same. She looked stunning without the wig may I add, but the wig made her feel more confident. It looked bloody good too! It actually inspired me to have my hair how her wig was. A short neck/shoulder length 'lob', as they call it.
I'm not asking for a lot at all, just change. I'm only chopping my hair off, not running marathons! I literally have to sit down whilst someone else does the hard work for me (not really selling this 'donate for me' thing, am I). But if donating my hair can raise a teeny bit of money for The Little Princess Trust who rely solely on donations of money and hair, then I think that's all that matters.
I'll be fundraising from now, throughout February and getting 'the chop' in March.
Thank you so much for any donations!
Love, Sarah xxx
