Cricket in the Classroom Fundraising · 1 April 2011

The YCF is the official charity of YCCC. Our work focuses around four themes; Education, Health&Wellbeing, Heritage & Participation Cricket is the hook to initiate interest & engagement; from there we deliver a range of community outreach &education initiatives across our four themes

Story

Cricket in the Classroom allows children (aged between 7 and 11) time out of the school classroom to develop key skills within a sporting environment.  Each session lasts for 3 1/2 hours, during which the children enjoy a full coaching session (batting, bowling, stopping, throwing, catching, fair play), develop ICT skills within the Headingley Learning Centre, have a tour of the Headingley Carnegie Stadium, and learn about the heritage of Yorkshire cricket within the Headingley Museum of Cricket.

The current funding for this programme ends on 31 March 2011 and the YCF are therefore raising funds to ensure the programme continues until at least July 2012.

Monies raised will be used to pay for teaching staff, coaching staff, facility hire, equipment and teaching materials.

Thank you for your support.
