<div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">We did it, all four of us completed the ride to Lympstone Royal Marines Training Centre in Devon.</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">We set off at 9.40am on Friday morning and finished at 4.50pm on Saturday.</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">The stats are as follows:</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">Distance 200.05 miles</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">Riding time 12 hours 28 minutes</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">Average speed 16 MPH</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">Top speed 43.90 MPH</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">one puncture between all four of us, it had to be me!!</span></span></div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"></span>&nbsp;</div> <div><span class="680181116-03102011"><span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;">one crash, fortunately no serious injury just minor abrasions and most fortunately, NOT me.</span></span></div> <p>Yardley &amp; District RFC&nbsp; 200 mile bike ride&nbsp; from the Y&amp;DRFC Clubhouse to the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM, Lympstone, Devon) 30 September 2011 to be completed by 01 October 2011 , in aid of The <br>Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund&nbsp; which is the overarching Royal Marines charity.&nbsp; It exists to maintain the efficiency and 'esprit de Corps' of the Royal Marines.&nbsp; RMCTF&nbsp; supports the Recovery, Quality of Life and Through Life pathways. Providing help for our wounded, adventurous training and support for retired RM's and their dependents.</p> <p>Their challenge is to raise &pound;6m by the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines in 2014 so that they can support the:<br><strong>Recovery Pathway </strong><br>Helping the wounded and injured in any way they can, particularly as the most severely injured begin their transition into civilian life; quite simply, the RMCTF will help when others cannot.<br><strong>Decompression/Quality of Life Pathway </strong><br>Helping those still serving and facing successive tours in high threat environments - providing adventure training for those returning from operations, funding homecoming events financing memorials, maintaining our heritage etc.<br><strong>Through Life Pathway </strong><br>Continuing the same level of support and care once the beneficiaries break their formal links to the Corps<br>Sadly, but importantly, the RMCTF will also provide a grant to the next of kin of those who die in service within 48 hours of the event.<br>Further information can be obtained from <a href="http://www.rmctf.org.uk">www.rmctf.org.uk</a>&nbsp;&nbsp; <br>&nbsp; <br>Please watch the video, see what the charity is all about and support our riders&nbsp; <br>&nbsp; <br><a href="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6aUnF7TCELQ">www.youtube.com/embed/6aUnF7TCELQ<br></a>The lads completing this task are:<br>Andy Rasin&nbsp;<br>Chris Duffill&nbsp;<br>Rick Bruin <br>Simon Evans<br>None of these lads have been in the armed forces, but they wanted to do something to show their appreciation&nbsp; to those who have been injured or who have paid the ultimate price to protect us <br>&nbsp; <br>Please show your appreciation by sponsoring this worthy cause.<br>Thank you</p>
