Three peak 24 hour challenge · 27 June 2017

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

A team of 5 from Zest Health & Fitness are taking part in the notorious National Three Peaks Challenge on June 27th, to raise much needed funds for The Alzheimer’s Society.   The Zest 3 Peakers are:  Pauline Lacey  .... “this challenge has opened up the world of hiking”  Sarah Summers  .... “conquered my fear of heights”   Kira  Griffiths ....“achieved amazing levels of fitness” Mikaela Warburton ....“enjoyed sights of Britain ... including men in shorts!”  Evie Lacey ....“become a mountaineer”

Training started a year ago and the team have been unwavering in their commitment; climbing all 3 Peaks (& more) through rain, snow, gales, hail and sunshine including night walks on Snowdon. They are well prepared with a great logistics team (Jen and Steve) and determined to complete Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within the 24 hour period.  Here’s a few photos from their training sessions.

The team would really appreciate your support and donations (large or small) to this worthwhile cause.

Zest Ladies Health and Fitness has also been
raising money locally at the gym, with friends and family and have been supported by the local press to publicise their efforts.

Zest have always raised money for charities, local
and nationwide and this year decided to select Alzheimer’s Society as many of
our members have been touched in some way by this dreadful disease and want to help.
