The Cause:      Syria Emergency Relief

The Charity: Ummah Welfare Trust

U.W.T is a UK Registered Charity (Reg. No: 1000851) established in the year 2001. The aim of the trust is to assist and relieve the suffering of the poor and the destitute across the world.

U.W.T has been on the ground in Syria since 2012.

Operating a 100% donation policy, what you donate is what is delivered to those in need.

(Administration, offices, staff……..all operational costs raised separately.)

The well publicised civil war in Syria rages on……

The crisis now well into its third year, has taken its toll.

U.W.T’s ground force have been witness to the terrible situation that is the Syrian crisis. Deteriorating conditions in the country have seen many millions suffering and more people join them every day.  Widows, orphans, families, elderly now populate the many displacement camps and relief centres.

A great example of U.W.T's great work inside of Syria has been to establish a camp in Sarmada (close to Bab ulHawa), The primary aim is to support widowed and orphaned families. The camp houses around 100 families and caters for their every need.

The community has a masjid (prayer facilities), free schooling for children and segregated sanitation facilities. A newly-drilled borehole, has enabled families to have permanent access to a clean water supply. To name a few provisions that have been  made for Families they now have shelter, mattresses, clothing, blankets, kitchen utensils, hygiene kits, fresh and cooked food. (These are all basic things that we take for granted)

U.W.T continues to deliver over and above these basic needs.

The challenge:

Climb to the Summit of Mount Snowdon on Sunday 25th May 2014 organised by U.W.T.
Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and is Great Britain's highest mountain south of the Scottish Highlands. Standing at a height of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft.).

The participants from around the country will be taking the 11km(approx.) from Pen-y-Pass the summit will be reached via the Miners track.

The Challengers:

Inexperienced semi fit/unfit ‘trekkers’

Some with sports injuries resulting in questionable shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles!!!

Daring to take up a grueling challenge, which is nothing compared to the suffering pf people we intend to help!

Please donate to help support the running of this camp and other similar aid projects to help those in need.

“When you’re being charitable, give as though the one hand doesn’t know what the other has given”

Reach out and Help the widows, orphans and the needy of Syria.

Thanks to all whom have donated personally, at our store and online.

Gratitude for your support.
