Story
April 22nd 2007, London - "I would rather scoop out my own eyes with a spoon than run that again."
Well I may have been a little over dramatic that day because fast-forward 3 years and I'm doing it all over again! Hopefully with a few less blisters this time and feet that function properley for the 6 months immediately afterwards. But why? Well my time in 2007 was similar to that of a snail having a lazy day considering the training I had put in, and I'm a weeny bit competitive. And if Eddie Izzard can run 43 of the things then I'm sure I can run 1!! But this will definitely be my last - honest. In fact, to borrow a few words from Sir Steve Redgrave, if you see me go near a marathon entry form again you have my permission to shoot me. Unless I one day wake up with the physique of Paula Radcliffe, then it would be a bit rude not to see how fast I could run!
I'm raising money for the same two charities as I did in 2007, so if you're being generous and donating then please try and split the money. If you feel you just want to donate to one then that's fine - just so long as I'm not doing the hard slog for nothing!
The Paget's Association offers support and information for those suffering with Paget's Disease. Paget's is a chronic bone disorder, and like most people, my family had not heard of it until my Dad was diagnosed with it in the 1990s. More information can be found at www.paget.org
