The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

This year "Team G&T" (Ali, Zoe & Caroline) will be running the Great Manchester run - 10k!  We will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.  Last August Zoe's Dad, Jeff, was diagnosed with primary liver cancer, the best treatment for which is a liver transplant - unfortunately due to the size of the tumours this is not possible in Jeff's case. Hopefully he will have access to a new drug, through a clinical trial at The Christie Hospital in Manchester.  Jeff worked for over 40 years for a Pharmaceutical company, in Research & Development, mainly for cancer drugs but asthma as well. He managed clinical studies for Faslodex, an injectable drug for breast cancer, which has extended the life expectancy of many women.

The prognosis for liver cancer is not so good at present, and we have decided to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support for the support they have given us as well as thousands of other people.  We are aiming to raise at least £1000.

Any amount you can spare would be hugely appreciated for the work that Macmillan nurses do.  The run will be televised live on Sunday 20th May, so see if you can spot us, or our fabulous cheerleader Tams - will she dye her hair green?
