Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
In November 2008, when my Mum was diagnosed with Secondary/Metastic breast cancer in her brain, lungs and bone I (along with a few family and friends) decided to do some fundraising for cancer research and signed up to do the shine marathon, a 26 mile night time walk around Manchester. As I am extremely unfit, (just thinking about walking 26 miles makes me feel tired!) this will be a huge challenge for me, however nothing compared to the daily challenges that cancer sufferers and their carers face everyday throughout this cruel illness. Hopefully the money raised will help cancer patients in the future suffer less and have a better chance of survival.
Sadly, on 17 January this year, my wonderful mum lost her battle. She was brave, courageous and an inspiration to all who knew her; my little ray of sunshine. I am proud to be her daughter and more determined than ever to complete the marathon and ‘shine’ the way she did.
Please help by digging deep and donating as much as you can spare. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Don’t forget to check down the back of the sofa!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you
Zoe and the rest of the ‘shine’ walkers!!
