Walking 500km for trees

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am walking 500km in the next year to raise money for tree planting in Malawi with the charity TREEZ- (The Reforestation of the Environment and Ecosystem of Zomba) which works within the local community on Zomba Plateau to raise environmental awareness, protect the forest with fire prevention and plant trees- which helps prevent drought, flooding, provide shade and support the diverse ecosystems and communities in which they grow and thrive. Deforestation and extreme weather conditions are increasingly affecting Zomba Plateau. Even now, in March 2023, Zomba is being hit by a cyclone with 479mm of rain in a short period of time.

I first started this fundraising in 2016 with my cousin James Gleadow who in 2018 sadly lost his life to colon cancer at the age of 36 years. He loved walking in the hills of Scotland. This year I am remembering him and my friend Maeve Gavin who lost her fight against breast cancer in 2018, and who loved Glen Affric, by setting myself a long distance target of 500km and hoping that friends and family will join me on my journey and help fundraise too. I will also be celebrating bi-visibility as I venture on this hiking journey (https://thisisbiscuit.org.uk/AboutUs).
Whatever you can contribute, small or large will make a difference - trees are the life force of our planet, for ourselves and generations to come.
