update: If the Great North Swim is cancelled for Sunday I will still be doing a mile outdoor swim to earn your generous donations. I'll keep you posted over the weekend. Here's hoping it still goes ahead. I will also be donating my entry fee (if worst case scenario occurs). Fingers crossed!

Hi thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2012 I am undertaking my new challenge for charity - the British Gas Great North Swim... I'm going to swim 1 mile across lake Windemere in the Lake District.

Many of you will be confused as to why I have selected the charity that I have. In fact the majority of you won't even know what Myeloma is - Myeloma is a form of cancer that sadly has affected my family. It is incurable, as yet, and so far only extension of life is as good as it gets. I have selected this charity specifically in the hope that someday there will be a cure and my fundraising effort will have helped with that.

Also I am hoping that it will raise awareness of this cancer.

I am incredibly greatful for any donations - and remember GIFT AID if your a UK taxpayer!

xoxo
