Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 6th Novemebr 2016 I will be doing a tandem skydive at 'Skydive Northwest' in Ulverston in memory of my Mam and aid of the British Lung Foundation.
I lost my Mam on the 9th November 2013 due to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). This lung disease basically lines the lungs with scar tissue, making it incredibly hard to breathe, eventually the scar tissue obstructs that much area of the lungs the vital organs become starved from Oxygen and store Carbon Dioxide; the organs then begin to shut down and inevitably cause death. This deterioration usually lasts 3 years from the average diagnosis and sufferers rarely live 5 years from diagnosis.
My Mam was diagnosed in 2011 with IPF and couldn't do many active activities. She was forced to leave her dream job with the RPA inspectorate and downgraded to the call centre.
My Mam was an inspirational woman and was the centre of our family. Unfortunately she was unaware of any help and advice The British Lung Foundation could give her, the funds raised from my skydive will hopefully raise awareness of Lung Disease and raise funds to aid further research into IPF which at present has very little known about it.
Any donation, large or small would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading,
Billy 😊
