Story

Thank you for visiting our page.

On 5th July 2021 David and Michael will be walking 127 miles from Leeds to Liverpool in aid of the Darby Rimmer foundation over 5 days.

As you may be aware David’s partner Nicola lost her hard fought battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in March 2021, having only been diagnosed 4 years previous. The world has lost a legend and we have all lost a mate.

The Darby Rimmer Foundation were a fantastic support to Nicola and to enable them to continue their amazing work we would like to raise some money for them so that they can spread awareness of MND and to enable them to support other people the way that did for Nicola.

127 miles is a long way to walk and it is going to be tough, but so is MND and for anyone who met Nicola will know what she went through, but never once complained. She was brave and inspiring and a massive loss to the world.

Every single donation counts, we know with the pandemic that fundraising has took a massive hit and we are grateful for any amount you can spare. Please also read up on the Darby Rimmer foundation and their fantastic work.

Together we can beat MND.

Also we will be holding a charity event on the 2nd Oct, tickets 🎫 sold £10 and there will be raffle prizes, auction and food , all the money goes to the Darby Rimmer foundation, thanks to everyone for your support I really appreciate it

About the charity

Former Liverpool, Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers footballer Stephen Darby and close friend and British Forces Veteran Chris Rimmer have partnered together to launch the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. Stephen and Chris both have Motor Neurone Disease and have created a Foundation to create awareness of MND, to fund and assist research into the illness with the quest of finding a cure for the illness, to raise funds and offer grants to those with MND, as well as creating a network to help provide information and emotional support network for those diagnosed with the disease.
