Story

Hi and welcome to our just giving page,

The challenge is to paddle 125 miles in one sitting and raise some funds for the muscular dystrophy campaign. We are a group of north east paddlers consisting of three two man teams all with different levels of race experience. We all hope to complete the race under 24hrs thats without stopping. At the moment we are spending a lot of our free time preparing for the race, paddling long distances, running, and some gym work too.

I work in one of the labs that carries out some of the research into muscular dystrophy at the Centre for Life in Newcastle. Knowing how much the money can positively infulence the day to day care of the people affected by the disease, makes supporting the campaign a no brainer for us. Our fundraising will be put towards a project here in the North East of England.

We are grateful for Tees Actives support in our preperations for the race. The Teeside based sports and leisure provider which Chris works for is providing a lot of the equipment and trainning mentioned above to help us in our preperations.  We would also like to thank North Shore a sea kayak manufacturing  company who have been working on the boats for us. A big Thankyou is also in order for Yarm School currently lending us three boats.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our page, spare what you can.

Best Wishes
